  1. Morning SJ! And everyone.

Frustration abounds on the Bush Tax Cut Issue.

I say let them expire for all. Problem is the GOP is holding Hostage:

    Unemployment benefits extention
    DADT
    START

and numerous other bills that have already passed in the House.

    Maddening!

  2. trapper says:

    Morning Jim, how’s the eye?

  3. trapper says:

    Maddening as hell, but typical.

  4. David Corn
WH will argue deal with tax cuts for wealthy was best it could get. Maybe. But this doesn’t absolve it of decisions that led to this point.

    • its time for the white house to do some scorched earth. let the tax cuts expire. tell the conservatives to go pound sand. and then start issuing executive orders.

obama must know that the drive to impeach him starts as soon as the new house is seated.

  5. and where the hell is the music leading into the show? its frustrating to have to keep hitting the play button over and over and over and over and over and over

  7. Hey Sam, are you into This Is Hell? It’s a weekly four-hour radio show/podcast done by a little group of smart people in Chicago. I’ve been listening to it for a year now, and it’s pretty impressive; seems like a show MR people would be into.

  9. they rearranged the studio and Sam has some light on him!

tell ya what would be cool, is if we could have the IM’s on these threads.

  10. didn’t the conservatives invent the term judeo-christian values to take care of this?

    • Haha, totally. If you’re going to invent an awkward phrase like that, you might as well use it. I guess they’re…past it? They no longer need help from Jewish politicians/voters?

Sam hosts Hannity…That would be FUNNY.

  23. daveyeah says:

WTF. I spend one day being too busy to listen to the show, and Sam goes and announces that he’s going to host Countdown? Luckily I wasn’t hearing it live, because I’d probably cheer if I did, which is frowned on in a business setting.

  24. David Graper says:

The interview with Bill Scher was illuminating and disappointing. As SS said after the interview, “Bill Scher is a thoughtful guy”, but his comments showed him as stuck thinking inside the beltway framework — it was sad hearing his familiar voice again. Talking about the current situation as something to be gamed to maximize political advantage and framing Obama’s sellout-du-jour in terms of party electoral strategy means nothing to me as I watch the cubicles around me gradually empty out to outsourcing and downsizing.

I really don’t think starting another foundation or group or whatever and creating petitions to the President mean anything at all anymore, if they ever did. It was if I was listening to a podcast from 2004.

I’m glad Sam had him on but perhaps it was best seen in the context of a “Whatever happened to …” segment. The new reality is better captured by Sam himself and his newer guests like Matt Taibbi.

  25. wow Sammy!!!!

  26. Sam, you’re doing great! Like it was your show.!

Probably nervous as hell ;) but sounding good!

  27. gloryoski says:

OK. Feel free to keep liveblogging. I gotta wait a couple hours.

    Go Sammy go!! !

  28. Sam nailed Jared with that SS question. He danced around with that answer. Can’t wait to hear Sam tomorrow on this!
