  1. Welcome back, Janeane! You rule!

  2. Fantastic interview on WTF the other day…!

  3. AL FRANKEN FOR PRESIDENT

    • rebeccac says:

Did you see his speech on tax cuts and unemployment compensation? He is almost filling out the very big shoes of Sen. Wellstone-amazing for only 2 years in politics.

  4. rebeccac says:

Good morning everyone! Wow, Sam on Olbermann and now Janeane on Majority fm. Life is good. Except for tax cuts, unemployment, greedy bastards, etc.

  5. Evan, please start the stream like ten minutes before you go live, instead of the second you go on air.
Dead air is fine for the first few minutes so long as we don’t have to keep trying to reconnect when the show is starting.

Great that Janeane is going to be on the show!

    Thanks

    • we can’t soundcheck while the stream is live (no audition bus)… we do however open the stream with buffer music for about 3 minutes before beginning.

  6. Did anyone/Sammy see Richard Wolffe In-Studio Vs. Cenk On Obama – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXHezjePqZY ?

    • gloryoski says:

Nope I did not. Thanks for the link.

    • Nefferkitti says:

      I did.

    • CayPDX says:

Yes – I was also struck by this interview/discussion. The way Richard Wolffe defended the latest Obama tax cut deal made me understand at a gut level why Obama acts the way he does. Wolffe (and by extension Obama) honestly does not believe there is any alternative to triangulation. He rejected and denigrated Cenk’s position as”acting tough.”

  7. trapper says:

Sammy rocked last night, and a reunion show today. Maybe there is a God.

  8. daveyeah says:

I especially liked Sam’s take on the wacky runaway dumptruck story.

I guess every story can’t all be pressing issues

RT @TheLib “Censorship is censorship, especially when it’s the Library of Congress” – http://bit.ly/idNqcz

Censorship is censorship, especially when it’s the Library of Congress

The Library of Congress has blocked access on all of its computers to Wikileaks. This action was taken, according to the Library of Congress blog, in direct response to a memo from the White House Executive Branch. According to a New York Times article, the White House has since said that it issued no such directives to block Wikileaks in any government agency. I am unconcerned with the “he said, she said” childish finger pointing of the different arms of government. I don’t care who said what to whom in a memo, an email, or in a hallway conversation.

I am, however, gravely concerned that the leading library of the United States has willfully and arbitrarily blocked access to information. Blocking access to information, any information, is censorship. This action is unconscionable….

  10. Deficit Commission is happy about that! They can use it against Social Security. A gift from the administration!

  11. Lol X-Mas miracle … People getting their homes, health and jobs back. Sam, u sound a little “on edge” this morn…hmm… lol (Not a HUGE fan of the accent guy) YAY! JG rocks – spanks!

  12. Sammy has a future career in reading audio books!

  13. Sandy McGee says:

Oh my god …….. Alice, Hello! It’s great to see U. How r u doing dear? I miss u so.!!! xoxo Sammy sounds great, & was cute as ever last night on Olbermann’s show. Would love to see more of him on that show…

  14. Sandy McGee says:

    Finally Janeane !! Peaches

  15. Me thinks Janeane spent some personal time with Lawrence O’Donnell.
There is no other reason for her promoting this douche.

  16. natural… so is arsenic…

We should sponsor a Referendum titled: “Should Garofalo be allowed to smoke”

  17. Nefferkitti says:

Alice my dear how lovely to see you!!! xxoo
    Good morning everyone !

  18. Sandy McGee says:

    Janeane – PLEASE STOP smoking!!

  19. Kevin Krooss says:

I know a relatively easy way to quit smoking if Janeane, or anyone is interested….

Worked for everyone who’s tried it (including me).

  20. I’m not a WASP!!! Am I? Love, Nikki

  21. I disagree with Janeane about challenging the Log Cabin Republican on Countdown yesterday. That would have taken the conversation in another direction which would not have accomplished anything. I wanted to hear his opinion on the fight to repeal DADT and that is what Sam talked with him about.

  22. Sandy McGee says:

    Hi Michael ;-)

  23. Missed it by this much…drat.

  24. Janeane Rules !
Even while hackin up a lung..

  25. At least I got to hear the fascist song….*sigh* – I MISS THEM!

  26. Kevin Krooss says:

    Sam,

Why do you even need a 360? Couldn’t you use an iPod? Unlimited space. English titles on the clips. Plus it’s portable. You could make sfx everywhere you go!

    • gloryoski says:

We know he knows about that iPhone fart app…

    • the 360 has lots of big rubbery buttons. which aside from being fun to push, means that tens of sounds are on hand for immediate playback. no scrolling around on an iPod. Old tech is sometimes good tech :)

      • Kevin Krooss says:

Personally, I’d love it if MR would offer a CD of their clips so I could put them on my iPhone.

      • Old tech is sometimes (and often) even BETTER tech!

Old Musicmatch allows for filetype conversions between mp3 wma and wav formats and new versions took it away!

Old Adobe Reader allows for document securing without any monthly security subscription service, which new versions took away!

There are whole websites offering downloads of old software versions!

Besides, why reward Steve Jobs for his partnership with Rupert Murdoch??? Life IS not only possible, but enjoyable, without APPLE!

Unreal. @glennbeck’s hard “news” website is attacking Ehrenreich’s acclaimed “Nickel and Dimed;” they want it banned.

    Surprise!!

Leading House Republican has reservations about tax deal
    By Michael O’Brien – 12/07/10 11:45 AM ET

The No. 4 House Republican confessed Tuesday that he’s “not initially thrilled” about the tax deal announced by President Obama.

Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas), the newly-elected chairman of the House Republican Conference, said that the two-year extension of expiring income tax cuts don’t provide enough certainty in the economy.

“I need to see the details, and, no, I’m not initially thrilled about it. That’s perhaps what a successful negotiation is all about,” Hensarling said on Fox News. ..

  32. Kevin Krooss says:

Any benefits (payroll tax cuts) from this tax cut deal will be claimed by the Republicans. They’ll say the tax cuts for millionaires helped the economy.

  33. gloryoski says:

    Turning point or tipping point?

    GregMitch Greg Mitchell
Just now, likely turning point: Joe Lieberman on Fox says it’s time to attack NYT and other media role in WikiLeaking. http://bit.ly/h1QIkv

  35. Kevin Krooss says:

I have no connection to this doctor other than I’m a former patient.
The therapy is very mild electric shocks to the ears. Stimulates the production of chemicals in the brain that plug the receptors where the nicotine goes. It gets you over that difficult first week or two. In my estimate it made it about half as difficult to quit compared to cold turkey. Which makes it hard but quite doable.

  36. gloryoski says:

No way!!! Total A-. Not even inflated.

  43. heh! Anne Bancroft and Mel Brooks.

i love J’s sense of humor.

  44. Sam you were great on Countdown!

  45. excellent, interesting show today.

wheres the info on getting Janeanes DVD?

  46. Gretchen says:

When I first heard Janeane Garofalo hacking up her lungs on your show, I thought that she was engaging in some sort of anti-smoking performance art. I thought her “I only smoke organic cigarettes” line was hilarious. Gradually it became apparent that she was serious – seriously deranged. Wake up, lady! Your body is telling you something: Stop poisoning yourself.

  47. Janeane smokes English Ovals?? My Dad smoked English Ovals…and he’s dead.
