Guest: Author and journalist Yves Smith

TV ALERT! Sam will be on the Dylan Ratigan Show today (3/14) on MSNBC 4:00pm EST

Sam is back from his trip to Wisconsin funded by all the great Majority Report listeners. Sam has a lot of awesome pictures, video, and stories from his trip. There will be more pictures and videos posted today and tomorrow (including a new That’s Bullshit episode) so keep checking back.

While Sam was in Madison a triple disaster happened in Japan; a 8.9 magnitude earthquake which caused a devastating tsunami, and now a possible nuclear meltdown.

CNBC host Larry Kudlow said this telling line about the earthquake in Japan: “The human toll here looks to be much worse than the economic toll and we can be grateful for that.” He has since apologized.

Sam shares this interview with a sanitation worker from the protests in Madison, WI. Sam said it really drove home to him how this is a very personal issue to many on the ground there as Governor Walker’s actions impacts their families directly – and not for the good.

Firefighters first withdrew around $192,000 in a “Move Your Money” campaign from Madison’s M&I Bank, a bank that was a huge supporter of the Scott Walker campaign. Since then that number has compounded with even more firefighters taking their money out of that bank.

Yves Smith, author and founder of Naked Capitalism.com joins Sam to discuss the recent dump of Bank of America emails by the hacktivists Anonymous and she explains what they expose about the way BOA made tons of money in an insurance scam.

The Obama Administration says that Bradley Manning is being treated fairly so when State Department Spokesman P. J. Crowley decried that Manning’s treatment was “ridiculous, counterproductive and stupid,” he was fired. What a progressive administration.

If you are not a Majority Report member you miss out on the Members Only Show podcast. Join today! 4 out of 5 doctors recommend more Sam in your daily routine.

Today you missed out on more of Sam’s Madison stories, the story about the Wisconsin State Senator whose wife and housekeeper are voting to recall him, more about the value of unions, and listener IMs.
