Guest: Sportswriter Dave Zirin

Our lead story is the ongoing tragedy in Japan and the fire and explosions at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. The fight continues to keep the spent fuel rods cool to stop them from catching fire and causing a meltdown.

The campaign to recall of Republican State Senators is gaining mass with almost 40,000 signatures captured last week. Democrats are ahead of schedule on getting enough signatures to force a recall vote.

Sam added a new segment today – The Fascism Report

Michael Moore posted this picture of a thousand senior citizens protesting on the capitol grounds in Lansing, MI to protest governor Rick Snyder’s budget plan.

At first Ohio governor John Kasich said reporters “could bring only pens, notepads and small voice recorders” at his budget briefing today, but because of calls from the ACLU and the state Democratic Party, he reversed his decision. Reporters we open to record Kasich’s budget and the middle class cuts he is proposing.

The Michigan Martial Law Act of 2011, ooops, we mean the Emergency Manager Act, is another sample of the Shock Doctrine right here in the USA.

According to the law, which has already been approved in the House, the governor will be able to declare “financial emergency” in towns or school districts and appoint someone to fire local elected officials, break contracts, seize and sell assets, and eliminate services.

Welcome to the Banana Republic of Michigan.

Would some of you click this link and tell me if it is working? I’ve been told it is working, yet I get a custom Not Found page with a search box. Trying to figure out if it is just me. Thank you very much.

Folks may not fully appreciate just how radical the “Emergency Managers” plan is in Michigan http://bit.ly/govNar It redefines ‘power grab’
