1. Just announced on MSNBC that Boehner wants a CBO report on Obama’s Jobs Act!

2. Jonathryn says:

How does taking Medicare away from “future generations” by making 63-year-olds wait for it another 2-3 years, “save Medicare for future generations”?

Why do we need “means testing” for Medicare? Why doesn’t someone propose “means testing” on tax deductions for individuals and corporations who have a net worth over $1,000,000?

3. Jonathryn says:

Hey Sam! I just found a way we can afford Medicare and Social Security! I looked under title=”Uncle Sam’s couch cushions,” and found like, a Trillion dollars!

4. HolyCity2012 says:

Acknowledging that Janeane Garofalo is the “Katherine Harris” character takes all of the comedic integrity away from what makes the bit so funny.

• Dr. Radmanthys says:

Jesus Christ, next thing you’re going to tell me there’s no tooth fairy.

• christopher k says:

Not to be insulting, but I didn’t know it was possible to not know that was Janeane.

5. Jonathryn says:

Sam! Sam! I just got off the phone with Uncle Ben! You’re not going to believe this! All our problems are over! In case you don’t know, Uncle Ben is like, a bank president somewhere, and he has more money than <a href="http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/07/21/audit-fed-gave-16-trillion-in-emergency-loans/" God's Grandpa's Stock Broker's bookie! He said he has up to 16 Trillion–no shit! That’s Trillion with a “T” baby!–he has up to 16 Trillion dollars to save Western Democracy! I’m sure he would be able to spare a few billion to make sure that old people won’t have to work and buy private insurance to the age of 70, and eat cat food!?!? I mean, if he can loan $16 Trillion-with-a-T-Trillion DOLLARS to a bunch of bankrupt shit-for-brains, he would let us use a fraction of that, right?

6. Have you noticed that CNN is Fox 2 now?

The best political team on television?

I can hardly believe what I’m seeing: Breitbart’s creature Dana Loasch is on CNN with Ali Velshi and John King, doing economic “analysis” and critiquing the President’s jobs plan as if she is some sort of expert. Velshi is doing a good job of exploding the myth that “the government doesn’t have a revenue problem it has a spending problem” and he blames the Tea Party for it. He points out that the best way to fix the deficit is to grow the economy and even challenges the whole “household budget” thing. Huzzah! Then John King says it isn’t the Tea Party’s fault and blames the American people because they elected a leftwing president and a rightwing congress.

Loesch, in her guise as a normal person, replies that there really isn’t a disagreement about this at all and that the “grassroots” (is “Tea Party” out of vogue these days?) believes that instead of redistributing wealth they should “expand the tax base” and if you look at the past six decades, “it’s proven.” She cleverly avoids saying what she means by that: that poor people don’t pay enough taxes.

Now she’s complaining that Obama didn’t fulfill his promises, which she evidently wants people to think she supported, and says “the grassroots” want him to cut taxes, end regulations and pass the Keystone Pipeline project.

Why is she on my TV?

@majorityfm “Katherine Harris” is lowering her own numbers in submission to her husband … Rick Perry (Garofalo at her best!)

8. Jonathryn says:

Sam! Sam! More good news!

I just found more money to save Medicare and Social Security! A $ Trillion dollars’ worth! That’s one thousand billion dollars!

Seems like our rugged individualist entrepreneurial risk-taking Galtian Overlords are just sitting on a Trillion dollars up there in Galt’s Gulch, because of the uncertainties of the Magic of the Marketplace!

Maybe we could use it? I’ve got two words for you: Eminent Domain!

9. “We have a very special gust today as well…”
I always enjoy Hurricane Katherine.
