It’s Tuesday and a busy day here in New York!
Bloomberg storms Zuccotti Park, evicts the occupation and is rebuffed by courts. The Majority Report’s very own Jeff Smith (@dontbeaputz) gives his first hand account of events last night.
Sam also talks to journalist Harry Siegel (@HarrySiegel) and Lee Papa, aka Rude Pundit (@Rudepundit), both LIVE reporting on events as they unfold.
Don’t forget Tuesday, Wednesday — then our Anniversary Marathon!

Throwing away books….REALLY?! Like the man said, that’s just WRONG!
Those books wouldn’t be titled, “How The Wealthiest American Enrich Themselves At Public Expense and Stick You With the Bill” or “A Peoples History of the United States” or “Conservatives Without Conscience” or “Broken Government” or “All The Sha’s Men” or “State of War” or….you know those books you will NEVER see on any syllabus.

New York Mayor Bloomberg defends clearing of Occupy Wall Street
New York’s mayor Tuesday defended the pre-dawn clearing of the Occupy Wall Street encampment, saying “inaction was not an option” as the nearly 2-month-old set-up became packed with tents and concerns grew that fires and other hazards could erupt.

The beauty of public private partnerships. “Public” workers doing work for private companies. Sheesh. From the SF Bayview newspaper: “Whose streets? Oakland’s shadow government presses City Hall to end the occupation” –

Although this article focuses on Oakland, SF and the Bay Area, the national phenomenon of real estate and development co’s sucking up public space is covered too.

I’m a marxist. My marxist college prof, and still a dear friend, from back in the 1970′s supported Bloomberg last election, ’cause she said he was managing things really well, and oh it was unfortunate he did some bad things, but all in all he was the best candidate!! I was agog. But because I left for the west coast in ’79, she said I didn’t know what was going on. Yeah right. I love my friend, but she’s old enough to know better than supporting this scum-bum.

DFA’s local group, Democracy for New York City, has been hard at work this fall supporting the 99% and the Occupation down in Zuccotti Park.
From organizing members to join the Labor Solidarity march, to being a critical part of #OccupyGracie, and even placing their bodies on the line to stop Mayor Bloomberg from shutting down the movement – Democracy for New York City is getting the job done.
That’s just what’s happening right now. DFNYC has been fighting for a more progressive New York for years and they’re getting ready for 2012 and beyond.
This coming Tuesday, join Gov. Howard Dean at an event this to support DFNYC. Let’s keep their activism going.
RSVP here for with Gov. Dean.

Bloomy, you great legal scholar, rights DON’T come with reponsibilities. A right to Adam is a duty the rest of the world owes to Adam. Adam has no responsibility.
Example BrookPeel Froperties owns Poorcutti Zark. Then other people who are not members of the BrookPeel entity have a duty to respect those property rights. Thus if BrookPeel wants me to move, I have the responsibility to move. BrookPeel HAS NO RESPONSIBILITY.
Therefore Bloomie is WRONG. Rights DON’T come with responsibilties. They are absolute.
If Wopoopy Awl Street has a right to speak, then other have a responsibility NOT to censor, the issue is NOT whether Wopoopy Awl Stree thas a responsibilty but whether Wopoopy Awl Street has a RIGHT to speak at all.

Can’t take the spirit out of NY’ers. I’m so proud of OWS and all you supporters/participants. NLG Lawyer workshop at OccChicago explains that threatening to throw a punch or an object is assault. Actually throwing the punch or object is battery. You will be fucked with by the cops if you do this and they are able to id you. Link to occupychi nlg workshop (it’s 1hr40min long): http://99getsmart.com/?p=146, it’s called Know Your Rights, How to Disarm a Police Officer.

Too many edits, I meant to say if one tries to throw a punch or object at cops.

2nd day in a row that the show abruptly ends with Sam mid sentence. The SammyCam went off air, came back on and it is yesterday’s show playing. I did not hear the end of today’s show.

People are getting pissed…
The Peaceful are doing their best to maintain form in the face of brutality, and the not-so-peaceful are doing all they can to control themselves while witnessing the injustice of the peaceful being brutalized…
…this situation can not be maintained indefinitely. Eventually it will blow.
“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.” John F. Kennedy
2:48 pm
Isn’t it fantastic how free we are in this country to assemble and petition the government with our grievances! That is until we actually assemble, that’s when the cops in riot gear show up to throw us out of supposedly public spaces.
3:54 pm
Bloomberg made up an awesome new First Amendment right in his press conference — to be in a park and be silent.
