It’s Casual Friday!
Today on the program, we’ll be talking with our favorite Friday regular, Cliff Schecter (@cliffschecter).
And will we have a movie review? Hmm, maybe…maybe not. (BREAKING NEWS: Matthew (@langdonboom) from a Bad Situationist will be providing us with movie reviews today!)
But we will definitely have a brand new offering from our very own Jimmy Reefercake (@JimmyReefercake)!

Good Morning gang ………
11:47 am
G’morning, Sandy. Good to see you again

Unemployment rate drops to 8.6% from 9.0% It is morer than Half a Percenatge Point lower than mid summer.
But the
most important news in the November 2011 report from http://www.BLS.gov this morning is that they AGAIN revised upward the Sept 2011 job growth now to over 200,000. Two months ago the estimate for Sept job growth was half that number. All the prior half year’s revisions have been upward. This is entirely consistent with a strong JOBs recovery which will become obvious by NEXT summer – Meaning Obama 2012 is re-ELected

This is an old trick, you know – “predict” that it will be worse than you think it’s going to be, then act like you’ve accomplished something when things turn out better than you “expected”.
Only trouble is, this will mean something to voters only if everyone suddenly feels secure in their jobs. That’s not gonna happen, because the figures don’t tell the truth about unemployment.

Don’t know if it’s the same group as the guy who just called, but during last week’s marathon a guy called in from an OWS march from Zucotti Park, NYC to Washington DC on November 10-24. I found this blog about the march – definitely a worthwhile read – America experienced on foot, the good, the bad and the ugly.

This particular blog entry describes the marchers’ arrival in Trenton, NJ, in a dodgy neighborhood late at night. Four members of the Revolutionary War reenactment group 6th Regiment U.S. Colored Troops showed up in uniform to escort the marchers to the Trenton Battle Monument commemorating the 1776. Very moving video.

Juliet,
That was me who called in from the road during my time with the @NYCmarch2DC. I was hoping to make it all the way to DC, but I exhausted myself in Joppa, MD.
I have a ton of interviews, etc that I am working on for them to post on their pages, etc
There is a now a core group of walkers heading to Atlanta, GA
you can follow them at Walkupy.org / @Walkupy / #DCMarch2ATL / facebook.com/walkupy
Here is a link to a 40 min audio piece I produced as an episode for a podcast I contribute to. It’s from about the last mile and a half into Trenton, NJ on Friday 11 NOV 2011:

Morning all, it’s still morning on the left coast (and another time zone or two). I”m here until my roommate wakes up and needs the wifi signal. No MR on our wifi signal (wahhh), only get it with the dsl cable direct into my laptop. Still recovering from bone fusion foot surgery, live MR is one of my favorite consolations. Podcast later is second best. Glad you’re getting better, Sam.
1:26 pm
Hope you make a speedy recovery, too!

Banks foreclosing on properties they don’t have a mortgage on is the entire point of recordation statutes – that’s why anyone, human or corporate, has to record their interest at the local town hall or wherever the statute provides.
Same for security interests in personal property (anything that isn’t land) – under the UCC security interests have to be recorded, usually with the Secretary of State’s office. It’s not rocket science. Imagine someone just grabbing your car out of the driveway, and then saying, well, we shouldn’t litigate this problem, we should just politically negotiate with the industry.
The reason the banks are saying that is that they know they are on the wrong side of the law, and courts are finally starting to take notice.

So right, Juliet. My roommates ex girlfriend received what turned out to be one of those bogus notices from BofA. I hope these robosigning gangsters are thrown in jail. Well, I can dream.
1:38 pm
Hope your BofA dreams come true and your foot mends soon!

I’m not usually irony impaired, but I was leaning toward the opinion that the fights with Rosen were staged. Guess not. Or…? Did I miss something?
1:24 pm
I don’t know if they’re 100% genuine or not, but my impression of Seder leads me to believe he will never tell. My impression of Rosen leads me to think they’re at least reality based. Like Winston Churchill once said, “It is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma, then sliced and placed on a sesame seed bun and slathered with secret sauce.”
1:33 pm
wow, you really nailed it.

That was really funny the way sammy went ballistic over the phone not working, almost spit my tea all over the place. not sure why, but an agitated sammy is sometimes hilarious.

Take a listen to my latest “We Are The Majority” http://t.co/iAJ0ihj3
8:12 am
Reefer madness still belies,
hypocrisy that we despise,
our freedom they will compromise,
turn off TV, turn on your mind,
occupy community and find.
a better way to spend your time,
50,000 arrests for weed in New York city every year,
Even though its safer than booze, for the majority that’s clear,
The people’s choice is to live in peace,
And not be hassled by police,
Prohibition’s been their tool for years,
To divide us with their false fears.
WE ARE, the majority.
We can decide,
We don’t have to run and hide.
They call us dirty hippies, pot-heads, whatever, they got that down to a science,
anarchists, socialists, radicals, whatever to promote their violence,
We are the majority. we are the 99%.
