I have to be honest: I was frustrated by today’s Cliff Shecter segment.
Cliff likes to talk about what Obama could’ve/should’ve done, and what he could/should do in the future. This strikes me as utterly pointless. It is beyond obvious now that Obama will never, ever do what we want him to do. Why keep pretending otherwise? The guy’s a total lost cause.
If I may be so bold, can I suggest that we move on to a new phase? Let’s loudly oppose Obama when he’s wrong (which is, sadly, most of the time). Let’s insist our Democratic senators and representatives stop blindly following him. Let’s complain to MSNBC and Daily Kos for not holding him accountable. Let’s get serious about voting third party whenever possible, to stop rewarding the Democrats for their corporate subservience.
Nothing will ever change if we just sit around wishing for Obama to be something he’s not.

I love Isabel. I’m a big fan of her on your show (except for her “Chariots of Fire” pick–that just didn’t deserve to make the MR lineup–but she is allowed a bad pick every once in a while).
And thanks, Sam, for the OWS coverage. I was there for a while from Union Sq Park around 6pm, and it is amazing to me that the news coverage was so non-existent. It seems like a peaceful protest is just not news… the cops and the media are simply waiting around for violence.
