Lori Wallach, Corporate Power Tool TPP

Lori Wallach, Director of Global Trade Watch at Public Citizen, discusses Trans-Pacific Partnership (TTP).  Corporations are pushing this “free trade” agreement and it’s being negotiated behind closed doors with their participation while the public and it’s representatives are barred.  And, in advance of Thursday’s Supreme Court ruling on the Affordable Care Act we revisit Sam’s conversation with American University law professor Amanda FrostClick thru for links and updates.  Use this post as today’s thread.

  4. Instead of pilloring the uninsured as ‘freeloaders’ why not admit that everyone supports the cost of hospitals through free non-profit status for their property taxes, and that many uninsureds pay property taxes through mortgages or rent which pays for Medicaid costs and other local public welfare services. Why not assert that everyone pays for untreated illnesses and premature deaths by living in a more sick society??

  5. I hope Sam puts up his interview about TPP up as a vidwo and tweets it out. Good way to get others to pay attention to this.
