I know this has been discussed before, but can someone please decipher for me the opening lines of “Pilot Light”? What is it with fuzzy lyrics in songs with “light” in the title???

Was anyone else struck by the irony of Sam’s guest who was speaking on conspiracy theories saying at the end that we’re at a hinge point? Not saying that I disagree with him, just that it’s ironic.
