And to those progressives criticizing Rand Paul’s filibuster — get real. I’m not a Rand Paul fan by far, but when anybody supports a policy that you support, then you should support that person. I was against the Patriot Act when it was first enacted, and I am against the killing of Americans without oversight and transparency by Congress.
The blurring of the lines between executive war powers and congressional congressional oversight has been astounding — every since Vietnam. This has got to stop.
We should be supporting any effort by anybody in Congress to bring more oversight, more transparency, and more deliberation… whenever the killing of people (especially Americans) are involved without regard to habeus corpus.

My son is 2 1/2 so I’ve almost made it! I’m no spring chicken either (I was 43 when I had my son) and it does make it harder, but there’s much to be said for the wisdom and patients that comes with being older. Enjoy every moment!
