Ted Cruz is a formidible clown weenie, but it’s hard to see why Feinstein’s response made the liberal website rounds as if it were some sort of humiliating counting coup. There are hundreds of possible responses to the question he fired at her from his showboat, about the limits of constitutional authorization–she went for the argument that she is 1. older than Cruz, and has seniority, that she 2. is not stupid, is even educated and has studied the Constitution and 3. that she has seen the bodies and devastation caused by gun violence, reminding us that she had an ethical spine once nearly 40 years ago when she announced Milk had been assasinated. She lost her cool and responded from an arrogant authoritarian stance to a pipsqueak question. Her recent obsequious rim-jobbing of Brennen at his confirmation hearing was for me the final unmasking of this corrupt chickenhawk, she’s no Pelosi and she’s no Boxer and the sooner she’s primaried the better.
